In order to introduce our new office listing for lease, the 6400 Building at 6400 North Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale Florida, Brenner Real Estate Group decided to hold a broker contest. The contest was pretty simple. We put a graphic of 13 retail logos onto an email and asked over 8,000 brokers what these logos had in common. The logos included Chipotle Jersey Mike's Subs, Colucci's, Voodoo Barbecue and Longhorn Steakhouse.
What all of these logos have in common they are within walking distance of our new listing, the 6400 Building, owned by our client Pebb Enterprises. The 55,697 square foot Class-A office property at 6400 at Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale's Uptown Cypress Creek market is home to The South Florida Business Journal and Wells Fargo. We have spaces from 1,398 to 4,053 sf available.
The prize was two $50 gas cards, one for the most correct answer and one for the most creative answer. After receiving a mailbox full of entries, we chose not two, but four winners, each receiving a $25 gas card.
One winner from Stagman Commercial replied that all of companies were within walking distance of Brenner Real Estate Group's Cypress Commons at 1500 Cypress Creek Road - close, but not exact. This may be walking distance for him but not for me. It's a 1 mile walk in the hot South Florida sun which would be difficult during a busy workday. I prefer to either drive or take the uptown link, a new shuttle service that we covered in earlier versions of our blog. But we thought that giving us a chance to mention Cypress Commons was worth $25.
Another winner from Epic properties responded that they were all within walking distance of Brenner properties. Also not exact, but close, so we decided to split the prize.
I was hoping for some laugh out loud responses for the most creative answer. I got some good ones and wound up splitting that prize between entrants from Berger Realty and Neal Realty. One responded that all these restaurants were tenants that Ken represented. Unfortunately, I haven't represented any of these tenants, but I gave a prize to for kindly overestimating my brokerage skills. The other responded they're all places Ken has eaten. Close, and not an overestimation of my appreciation of a good lunch, but I still haven't tried Voodoo Barbecue, Giraffa's and a few others.
Thanks for everyone who participated. If you missed the contest, maybe next time you will pay more attention to your emails from Brenner Real Estate Group. Also follow our blog for continued coverage on the Cypress Creek submarket. And if you're looking for office space in uptown Fort Lauderdale, please consider the the great Class-A space in the 6400 Building and for quality Class-B space in a park setting, don't forget about Cypress Commons.
