It's rare that you would see the words cold, Florida and summer in the same sentence. But that is an accurate description of when our leader Scott Brenner took the ALS ice bucket challenge. Of course, the ice bucket challenge has gained tremendous popularity and even more importantly, has raised over $100 million for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Supporting the community has always been one of the really cool things we do here at Brenner - and we mean really cool!
Brenner associate Betty Geller had the task of lifting and dumping the ice bucket over Scott's head. Betty also did much of the heavy lifting for her husband Joe's successful campaign for the democratic nomination for the State House of Representatives.
We're glad she was more successful with the lifting for Joe than she was with the lifting for Scott. But Scott in his typical selfless fashion, lent a hand to Betty and got the task accomplished. While Scott is usually involved in running one of the most successful commercial real estate firms in South Florida, leasing office space and warehouse space, taking on new management assignments, investments and receiverships, he is also on the board of many philanthropic organizations. Scott has challenged his colleagues on the boards of these organizations including Habitat for Humanity the Jewish National Fund, Broward 211 and the Florida Bar Association to also take the ice bucket challenge. We'd also like to see our fellow real estate professionals take part. At Brenner Real Estate Group, we help South Florida businesses find the "right space in the right place." We also like to let our friends know that our hearts are in the right place.
