As we enter on the second quarter of 2016, we sat down with our CEO Scott Brenner to discuss what he sees for the rest of the year in the real estate market and for the company.
Q: Scott, as you look back on 2015, how would you recap how the year was for Brenner Real Estate Group?
Scott: We had an amazing year with growth in all sectors of our business – property and asset management, consulting, sales and lease brokerage.
Q: Share with us some of your goals for 2016 for the company.
Scott: Our main goal is to continue to deliver our clients value beyond expectations.
Q: Where do you see the occupancy rates on industrial properties going this year...talk about absorption and new product in Broward County and Palm Beach County?
Scott: Industrial occupancies will continue to rise since there was not a lot of speculative product built prior to the last downturn. Even in the face of an uncertain international economy, with an improving domestic economy, industrial should fare well.
Q: Last year Brenner had an amazing sell out of Royal Poinciana right at the end of the year. What kind of multi-family plans are you thinking about for 2016, if any?
Scott: Our main focus in our company history has been in the commercial market, however, we have the expertise in executing in the multifamily and residential markets. We are active in entitling a multifamily property in Pompano Beach and expect to sell that property to a third-party developer. We are also active on our brokerage side representing several properties and developers that are moving forward with entitlements. We are always open for opportunities to add value.
Q: What is your secret to make it happen?
Scott: Our staff is very aware of our plans to build on our success of 2016 and are actively engaged in assisting us in reaching our goals. Most companies do not plan to fail, they fail to plan. We know where we are going and how we are going to get there. After all, if you have a destination and do not have a map, any road will get you there :-)
Q: Anything else you would like to add?
Scott: Just a reminder that nothing comes easy... that accomplishing your goals requires discipline, hard work, enthusiasm and determination. I’m happy to say that our team realizes this and stretches to make it happen.
