Tuesday, November 8 is Election Day. Voting in the General Election is a privilege. All over South Florida, there are citizens positioned outside doorways of retail stores asking us if we are registered to vote. If you aren’t, don’t keep passing them by – because the time is here!
October 11 is the last day to register to vote in Florida to be eligible to vote in the General Election, so as of today, you only have six days left. Hurry up!
We did a web search for “the last day to register to vote.” After a few ads, a very handy blue chart appears in the organic search results on Google. You can choose by state by using a drop down arrow. For Florida, the mail deadline and the in-person registration deadline are October 11. It is kind of fun to play around and choose different states. Colorado, for instance, has an October 31 deadline. (Wonder why we need so many more extra days here in Florida?!)
There is even a "How To" tab that explains how to get the voter registration form for each state and how to send it in. A Requirements tab tells the requirements to register, including age, etc. There’s even a How To Vote link.
Early voting in Florida is between October 24 and November 6, depending on your county. The chart also has instructions for voting by absentee ballot. Everything you wanted to know!
You have the right to vote. Prepare in time to exercise your right.
